Taxes question

Just submitting taxes now. Married in August last year (married in NY), and had my first child soon after. I am Canadian and live still in Canada (130 is under review). Would I need to mention my marriage or child in my taxes?

Sure - why not get whatever government credits you can get for the child while still living in Canada and paying taxes. Yes, you need to mention your marital status change.

Doesn't my daughter or wife need to be Canadian citizens? Also, my wife told me I shouldn't claim them as my wife has claimed she already claimed my daughter (on her Us taxes).

Well - is the daughter your biological daughter? I made the assumption the child also lived with you but it sounds like you're in Canada with wife and daughter in the US?

I indicated my marital status change and new husband on my last year Canadian taxes and it didn't cause a problem. You don't have to be a Canadian citizen to be on Canadian tax forms (anymore then you have to be a US citizen to file US taxes).
