Hi Everyone!

In love, newly engaged and embarking on a new journey! My fiance just submitted our K1 petition today and we are very excited. We are a bit worried though that the package is going to be sent back to him because of 2 reasons: 1. the USPS office where he got the money order from insisted that an address for the US Department of Homeland Security also be written down. We notice that this isn't in any of the instructions but the USPS personnel insisted on doing so and; 2. Same personnel also insisted that a "signature required" verification should come with the package. My fiance said he argued that it was a PO box address but because he was getting late for work and we were all nervous about the whole packet that he gave in to the personnel's insistence.

Do you think they'd ship it back to my fiance because of that damn "signature required" thing? Would putting in an address in the money order pose an issue? Your insights are fully appreciated! Thank you!

Lena

lol. You know how shipping companies like UPS or FedEx ask you to sign something when you receive a package? The employee at the postal office stamped on "require signature" on our package. Now would this pose a problem since it's gonna be sent to a PO box address (nobody's going to sign it?) and 2. The USCIS site says to put the money order payable to "US Department of Homeland Security". Just that. Plain and simple. However, that same employee asked for an address of the USDHS to also be written down (their DC Office).

Would these 2 things pose an issue on our submission? Are my questions clearer?

No one will be signing your package if you have sent to PO box and you'll never know if your package was received or has arrived to where it should be. it might take awhile until someone from uscis would pick it up. that's why it says on the instruction to address it to the physical address.
