In life theres always a first time for everything, right? well I filed my I129-f Petition of course for my Fiance in the Dominican Republic. Im going to make long story short. I filed this petition back in October 6,2014, which was 6 months for now. I still haven't received nothing as yet. Last time I got a notice was October 8,2014 that they have received my petition but as of yet, nothing else. Just want to know what should I expect next.

Any suggestions?

thank you

Unfortunately you are at the Texas service centre. And they take a horribly long time to get to your petition. This can range from 6 months to a year.

But if you have gone past 6 months, you can start calling and enquiring about your petition.

You can also get in touch with your local congressman to enquire for you.

I am also from Dominican Republic and my story is similar to yours, my fiancée is from Colombia and I have a NOA1 with the date of October 8th... We just need to patiently wait because if you call them you are going to waste your time, all of the agents have a similar answer that is nothing; the only thing I am a little afraid is if after this long wait I get an RFE.... Just waiting my NOA2 this month......

To anyone that is from NY reach out to Senator Gillibrands office for help. It is not directly her that does the ¨grunt work¨ but i will say this they do make things happen and they have good solid contacts at both the USCIS and NVC.

I just reached out to her office (just finished emailing the form back)...not sure what they can actually do but thought it was worth a try...

Officially they are working on August 23rd 2014, however looking at timelines here we know they are working all over the place right now. A good average wait is approaching over 220+ days at Texas. Your NOA1 should of been right around my own. My case was approved a few days ago, so I hope yours will be looked at soon.
