Does RFE response need to be formatted in a certain way like the K1/I-485 packets??

Hey there all.

The wife and I received an RFE asking for proof of the joint sponsor's US citizenship. Right now I have the joint sponsor' birth cert and passport bio page copies at the ready.

The question I have is whether the response needs to be formatted in a certain way. Like the I-485 AOS packets and the I-129F K1 Visa packets have a certain template to follow and I am curious

if there is something similar with the RFE's?

All I've seen thus far is that the responder to an RFE needs to put the notice received in the mail as the first page followed by a table of contents page detailing the included documents responding to the request itself.

Does this sound pretty straightforward? Any and all information is welcomed.

Thanks again!

Hi there! That is indeed what I did for my RFE. Copy the letter for yourself and place the original as first page in the package. I had a cover letter behind that with all my info, husband's info, alien reg nr, receipt nr and the reason for the package (for example: response to Request for Additional Information concerning Adjustment of Status), then a bulleted list of the contents of the package and then I signed and dated at the bottom. Just stuck the requested stuff right behind that with paper clips. And I also wrote again on the envelope that the package was in (the internal one, not the post envelope) my name, alien reg, receipt nr and reason for the package.
