Filling Out Form I-131...need some clarification :-)

We are applying for my wifes I-485 and want to also apply for the I-131 at the same time so we can go on vacation to visit her family members in Canada and also back in the Philippines while we are awaiting her green card approval.

In Part 3. Processing Information of form I-131, they ask for "Date of Intended Departure" and also "Expected Length of trip". We do not have specific plans yet, they will come later once we have the I-131 approval. Can we just handwrite in "Unknown" and "Unknown"

Any tips on filling out this form would be a great help....we want to do it right :-)

You can write unknown or a date that is near what you're thinking.

Does not have to be the actual date.

That's because section 7 isn't filled out, except for the first question...which is checked: More Than One Trip.
