Taxes from abroad - which forms?

Hi, I am in a rural part of Ethiopia with sometimes limited internet access... I'm typically reading off of a hand phone.

Can someone advise me simply on which forms I need to file? Or if there is a free-file tax software that will accommodate MFS with NRA?

Since 2014 I have a dependent child but he doesnt have a SSN yet.

I need to file the last 3 years (zero income 2012-13 and minimal income 2014)

is it just a 1040, 2555, and 2555ez for each year + 8965 for 2014?

If you had zero income 2012-2013 then you do not have to file, the same as if you had zero income and lived in the US. It is a tax on your INCOME. You had none, so are excused.

The filing threshold for 2014 married filing separately is $3950 In US dollars. If you earned more than that, your forms list is correct, except 2555 and 2555EZ are the same thing. Pick the EZ version. it's easier and shorter.
