Hello Everyone,

I am new to this forum. I hope to get help and answers to my queries. I am an American citizen and petitioning my mother. I paid the AOS and IV fee. DS-260 was also filled out online. I was sent a link on the instructions what to do next. (see link here)

Step 4: Collect Financial Documents

After you submit your visa application, you need to collect financial documents. These will be submitted to the NVC in Step 6. To collect financial documents, your petitioner (the person who filed the petition on your behalf) must do the following: Complete an Affidavit of Support form and obtain financial evidence.

Step 5: Collect Supporting Documents

After you collect your financial forms and supporting financial evidence, you and each family member immigrating with you to the United States should collect civil documents to support your visa application.

  • You must send photocopies of all required civil documents to the NVC.
  • You must submit the originals (or certified copies) and a photocopy of each of your required civil documents to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate at the time of your interview.
Step 6: Submit Documents to the NVC

After you collect your Affidavit of Support form(s) and financial evidence in Step 4, and supporting documents in Step 5, you must submit all of your forms, financial evidence, and photocopies of your original civil documents in ONE package to the NVC.

Sorry for a stupid question, But who sends the documents? Me(petitioner) or my mother? According to step 4, I have to complete and sign the Affidavit of support and obtained financial evidence (which I did).

After we completed DS-260 online, we received this..

Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration Application Confirmation Thank You Your Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration Application (DS-260) was sent to the National Visa Center (NVC) for review. Please allow up to 30 business days for the NVC to complete the review.

All applicants must: 1. Obtain and submit required supporting civil documents. 2. Obtain and submit photographs that meet the Department of State’s visa requirements. 3. Review the information specific to U.S. Embassy/Consulate General where your visa interview will occur.

As my understanding, that I, the petitioner, must send the Affidavit of support form and financial evidence. Then, my mother has to send the photocopies of all supporting documents to the NVC.

But, they said to send all the affidavit of support form, financial evidence, and supporting documents in one package? I am so confused. For all those who sent their documents to NVC, can you please clarify on what to do next. All replies are much needed. Thank you in advance.

click the link below, study a bit.

is best to send all in one packet, separated by the cover sheets at the payment portal.
