SSN Question

I am so sorry if this was asked before, I couldn't find anything...
I got my EAD and it was approved march 1oth. So today i went to the Social Security Office, 9 days later. I didn't know you had to wait around 10 days to be in their system.
The lady was really nice but told me she couldn't find me in the system and told me she has to send my documents in to verify and it may take up to 4 weeks.

I called their hotline and asked someone if i could just go back to the office on monday, he said why not. He had no idea, though.

So my question, can i just go back monday and see if i am in the system then, and hopefully get my ss card mailed to me faster? I really can't wait 4 weeks...I need it now....

Maybe someone has done that already and can answer my question. I was just worried that i might slow the process down or complicate everything if i go back now.

Go back. If you are still not in the system, thank them and leave. Go back a few days later if youhave the time to waste waiting at the local SSA office or wait about a week or so. At some point you will get from the USCIS system to the SSA system and all will be good. It is a sad state of things that it takes so long for a database update to happen between two US agencies. It is too bad they cannot have a single system that all information about people is entered into and all agencies can access (as well as all hackers). I would wait until the 2 week point just to be safe before going back.
