Getting an interview for a tourist visa.

So my brother asked me this simply because I went through the London embassy. But I can't help him.

Basically his partner has applied for a tourist visa for the USA.

They have a holiday in August to New York and Florida.

And his partner requires a tourist visa.

They have apparently paid all the fees and are trying to schedule an interview but are having a difficult time.

Apparently the embassy aren't being very helpful and aren't scheduling any interviews for the next two weeks.

(And I think are only showing the next two weeks)

So id told him I'd ask here.

Basically... Is it normal?

Do tourist visa from the UK have to book their own interview online and wait for an available date?

And is it normal for only two weeks of dates to be shown to chose from that are upcoming for tourist visas?

Any helpful tips or answers would be appreciated.

Especially those from the UK who have had to apply for a tourist visa for America.

When my husband tried to do a visitors visa over the summer for the U.S. he would have to schedule it online himself and they usually do they same thing you mentioned somewhere around 2-4 weeks out from when your trying to pick . I always wondered why then I saw how many people daily try to go get a visitors visa even here in jordan and that's why crazy as it is other people have already took all the spots for the next two weeks for your country it's not unusual . 2 weeks isn't too bad ours was about a month out when he tried over the summer .

He can call for an appointment or book online. Maybe just call them and ask questions.
