In Canada trying to schedule and pay fee for visa application to have interview in Montreal (K1)

first I selected cash, which then it sent me a pdf that said the payment had to be made before March 17th. Which I thought I could pay AT the interview. Maybe that isn't true with Montreal or something. After I tried to select Interac and upon trying to login to the Interac payment service with my account info it said "the access number you are trying to use is not setup to use Interac Payment service" I am hoping this is just something I can call my bank and get fixed, but I decided I would try the Visa/Mastercard option since I have a Visa Debit which I have used as a visa to pay for various things before. But of course, I got an error message. It said not to try again as the payment may have went through already. I checked my bank account, it didn't go through. Though I guess it can take a few days to do so. I sent an email afterwards to the email the Immigrant site has. In the meantime I suppose I will call my bank about the Interac payment service and wait and see what I get back by email.

Hoping to get some opinions on this nonsense as to what I should do or what the problem may be here.
Thank you for reading my rant!

I think it has to be paid in order to open up the date selection for the interview. I had to take my pdf files into the bank and pay them at the bank. They stamped them so that I could bring them to the interview and my payment was updated online a few days later. Now this was in late 2012, so I don't know if it has changed since then.

I also have a Visa / Debit card issued by Scotiabank. It works great in the US for either debit or credit. Only seems to work in Canada as a debit card. I cannot use it for a Visa in Canada unless I am making a purchase online. I recently sent by mail the applications for new Canadian passports for the kids and I could not use it as a Visa for that, so I had to use my U.S. Visa card.

Good luck. I hope it goes through.

You have to pay for the non-immigrant visa application in order to fill out the DS-160 which needs to be done to get the p4 so you can book your interview.

Hi guys, I had a problem paying my MRV fee. I paid it via Mastercard (option for k1 visa is by cash or via credit card of $265) and it says error and do not pay again. When I checked my credit card, it went through but when I emailed U.S. Visa information Service, it says it didnt get through.

Yeah so I recently went to Scotiabank with the pdf and the payment went through almost right away. I got an email almost an hour later confirming the payment and successfully scheduled my interview! was freaking out for a bit that I would be screwed in paying the fee. another thing checked off!
