We got the good news today at our interview! At least, we think we did, we're in shock and it feels too good to be true. My fiance was sure he heard "Accepted and Approved", and the consulate officer said that his documents would be returned to him within 2 weeks.

Does this sound like a successful interview? Would they keep his documents if he was denied?

Sorry for the random post, we're both excited and scared!

It all depends on if the interviewer last words was with a "smile" or serious face. ;)

In my case I was at the interview alone and I was so petrified that I was not sure if I understood right that i was approved but then I remembered the lady was all smiling when she said I was approved and that she welcomes me to the US, etc etc etc. They usually say some welcome phrase and also remind you that you have to marry within 90 days of your arrival.

Surely they send him the visa in the passport along with the other documents in the same package.

My fiance says they she was smiling the entire time and he's pretty sure she was smiling when she said he was "Accepted and Approved". She also said something like "Enjoy your trip".

Ok, that sounds good then. They will be sending him the visa in his passport and all the other important documents submitted by you guys. Keep that package, those are still very important at the moment of POE in US.
