Hello everyone,

My fiance and I are currently scheduling her embassy interview for the K1 visa. I intended to pay the fee myself, online, and dumb mistake I chose the wrong price. I contacted the Visa Services desk to ask about options and unfortunately they don't allow payment of the difference. I don't fully understand this, but that's the situation. :)

Here's their response in its entirety:

Thank you for writing to the US Visa Services Desk.

In regard to your query, please note that if you paid 160 USD instead of 265 USD, in order to apply for K-1 visa you need to pay new correct MRV fee (265 USD). Unfortunately, visa fee is non-refundable and there is not any possibility to pay difference.

Please note that visa fees are non-refundable. You may use receipts of 160 USD during one year from the moment of payment for applying for non-petition based visa categories and also you may give it to other applicant.

Please visit our website www.ustraveldocs.com if you have any further questions.

Please visit https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/TG7Q9MDto leave feedback about services we provide.

Sincerely,
US Visa Services Desk

That said, if anyone is needing to pay the $160 fee (currently it's 18,550 Rubles), feel free to send me a private message and I'll get that receipt number over to you.

For any moderators or admin: If you think this would be more visible in another subforum, feel free to move it.

Rubles is presumably Russia, correct? Moving thread from General Immigration Discussion to the Russia/Ukraine/Belarus regional forum; if this is inappropriate, hit the "report" button and request a move elsewhere.

Psst... please construct your VJ timeline...
