Hello everyone.

I was curious to know if anyone had an issues filling out the Affidavit for Marriage form that is supplied by the U.S Embassy-Tokyo's website?

I am preparing everything now before I go to Japan in 2 weeks for my wedding. I was curious to see if anyone tried to convert the PDF to a word document so they could type in the information rather than having it written by hand?

Did anyone make small changes, like deleting the son/daughter to just son. Also since I am no longer living in Japan, will it be ok if I leave the current (Japanese) address blank or should I put my fiancé’s address down?

Any information or suggestions on previous experiences would be helpful.

Thanks for your time.

I'm Filipino, and I've been working in Japan for 5 years. I got my NOA2 a couple of weeks ago, and now I'm waiting for word from NVC or the embassy in Tokyo. I can't give you much advice just yet, but I thought you'd like to know that someone else is somewhat in the same boat as you. :-)

Good to hear! Congrats with the NOA2.

Are you living in Japan with your Fiancé(e)?

Hey,

That was almost exactly my situation, except my fiance was back living in the US when he petitioned for me. It was never a problem. I've been in the US nearly two years now.

Hey everyone. Lurker here introducing myself.

Have been getting the paperwork ready for first filing of the K-1 (& K-2) for the past month or so, just gathering information. Going to send the I-129F and other necessary documents to fiancee in Japan for signing and then send to USCIS as soon as I get it back.

Easier to send pre-typed documents and have her fill in some blanks and sign than for her print or draft her own somewhere.

Hope all goes well!

Hello japan filers..

We are an April filer for I-130 and it has been 10months since NOA 1.

I would like to know if there are any other April filers waiting just like us.. So I can feel a lil better knowing we aren't the only one.

Thanks.

Anyone piggybacking a K-2?

Fiancee has full custody of her son as indicated on her kosekitouhon. Is that sufficient? Will also try to get non-custodial parent's consent, but will it be absolutely necessary?

All my searches so far have resulted in topics made for other countries and each answer seems to vary. Looking specificallyf or Japan.

Huh, just got a letter saying that we likely won't need an interview for the Green-card, but that it will be up to 6 more months until we can expect a decision. Just when I thought we were about done. What a disappointment. Anyone else gotten this letter? ranting33va.gif

Saw your location as Honolulu and thought I'd drop a comment. It's been a long haul for us, actually waited a year for the K1. We go for our interview next Tuesday in Honolulu. My best advice is to use the Checklists during each step of the process. Try to find others with similar timelines and keep in touch with them. Follow the forum threads. Be patient and try your best to enjoy the journey. I flew to Japan twice while waiting for the visa to be approved, that was fun, although leaving was always difficult. Aloha!
