case number

we called nvc and asked if when did they received our case. they told us that they received it last feb 6, 2015 and to call back after 42 days from feb 6 to check if we already have case number.is it really 42 days? can we call once a week? twice?the last time i called them was last week.btw, we're filing for i 130 for my wifes parents

so there's a possibility that they can assign a case number before 42 days? btw, the last time i called nvc was on the 23rd. i had to check my phone.hehe
