today we got our manila case number after two weeks! The NVC representative said that we need to wait the instruction before we wet our interview to the manila embassy. My question is as far as I know when you have your case number you can set an interview date to the local embassy? What i should do know? Wait for the packer to arrive?

No need to wait for the packet to arrive. As long as you have your case number you can proceed to paying the the fee, scheduling your interview and medical exam.

Don't forget to fill up your Nonimmigrant Visa Application: DS-160 Form Online.

Goodluck!

As stated above you can start doing that , but if you fear that you might do things wrong then wait for your packet. Instructions were given already of what actions you can make. Your case number is what important you have to start your process. Good luck.

Yes,you can schedule medical and even go through the cfo. When we received our mnl number we waited 1 week. Scheduled our interview for the next week. In our case,it cost us a lot of time.when we went to the interview,we were sent home because the embassy hadn't received the physical docs. Customs in the Philippines had our packet for 4 weeks (nvc was able to track it) it took another 6 weeks to reschedule another interview. Once nvc told us the packet was physically there,we were ok. Our case was a fluke, but still happened. It's pretty safe to set a date a couple weeks away. Most have no issue, and as far as the letter? We have never seen an email or letter from the embassy even though they asked us to wait for one. Our interview is done and waiting for visas now. Still no letter

To ensure that this does not happen to you, Evangelistamonik, make sure you check the whereabouts of your case on the Consular Electronic Application Center or CEAC website after you acquire your case number from NVC.

You'll know when your case is in Manila once it shows "Ready – Your case has already been received and is ready for your visa interview."

You can move forward with preparing for your interview. HOWEVER you cannot move forward to the interview stage itself if your status doesn’t say “READY” and your physical file still isn’t at the U.S. Embassy / Consulate.

Once you have your MNL # it is ROCK n ROLL time!!!

Don't wait for any letter from the embassy... they rarely arrive.

Follow the flashing arrow below for details on the complete process. (you can be done with the interview in a matter of a month or so)

Totally a bad idea to sit waiting for anything that has to be delivered by PhilPost... it will never arrive.

Please follow the instructions you received from the National Visa Center (NVC) for the next step in the processing of your visa petition. If you have misplaced the instructions sent to you by the NVC or did not receive them, please contact us at http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3177.htmlfor additional information.

---> even if it was stated in the ceac like that? Hehe! Yeah i would really love to start my medical and interview! But the thing is! What will I represent a letter from the nvc to my medical? If there is none of there letter arrives?

I heard that they will look for nvc letter or case number?
