I have read on here that you can go to the interview if you don't have your instruction packet. Is that true? because my fiance has her appointment for her interview on 2/06 and her medical on 2/02 and we have received nothing from the embassy.. I cannot not reach anyone at the Embassy and just finished talking to the NVC and he said I should wait. Her flight is about 2 hrs to Manila and I don't want her go there for nothing. and waste all the money.

Hi

You fiance dont need to wait for the packet three to arrive in her mail becuase it will take forever for her to recieve it.. All she need to do is to download and print it. She will be able to get all the things needed for the medical and interview... I will give you hank's link for you guide.

You do not need the instruction packet for anything other than for information on what you need to bring to the embassy. You do not bring the instruction packet to the interview.

If you have not received it, the instruction packet is available here: http://photos.state.gov/libraries/manila/1178798/29DEC2014/K1%20and%20K2%20Interview%20Preparation%20Instructions%20-%20English%20_updated%2029%20DEC%202014_.pdf

Not true.

Most NEVER receive "the letter" from the embassy. Relax.

All you need for the interview is listed in the embassy instructions letter, and that is online. There is a link to it in the guide below.

Good strategy doing your interview on a Monday. You'll get 9 or 10 full business days out of the USEM with only one weekend in between.

Ok, My fiance just got her medical approved but they asked her for her letter from the NVC appointment confirmation on the first day and she had her appointment confirmation from where we schedule her interview and had her status ready screenshot from the DOS and gave them those two and just now on her way out the guard told her it was very important that she has that letter from the NVC when she goes to the interview. I'm assuming he is talking about a letter that is in that packet we still dont have. Has anyone else experienced this before at SLEC?

The guard maybe be referring to the letter you received from NVC that have the MNL#. And I didn't received my packet from USEM, still dont have it ...and I was able to finished the medical and interview (yesterday 2/2) without any problems.

And during my interview, the USEM didn't asked for the NVC letter neither...they just asked for my DS160 and appointment letter to get inside the embassy. Then the local employees at "Step 2: prescreening" will prep you up on the basic required documents the CO will need. During the interview, the CO will ask your fiance if he/she needs additional documents. For my case, the CO just asked for additional pictures of us during our relationship.

The NVC MNL letter is not required at the USEM interview. I went to my fiancee's interview this past January. Fiancée needs DS-160 confirmation page (not the questions and answers), her passport and her USEM interview appointment confirmation letter all to enter the USEM. Then fiancée needs to have all the documents detailed in the instructions for the interview.
