Is anyone being asked for this document anymore at the USEM interview? We weren't asked for it at jan14 K1 interview and I've read here on VJ that others are not being asked for it either. Just wondering if the CO's have been told internally not to ask for it and thus the USEM guidance paragraph k is possibly out-dated?

Has anyone recently received a 221g for not having an original signature I-134?

Seems like folks spend a lot of money mailing this only one document that says on the USEM website needs to be original.

"k. EVIDENCE OF SUPPORT. You should be able to demonstrate that you will not become a public charge or be a burden on the U.S. taxpayers for financial support. A completed I-134 Affidavit of Support Form with original signature will be useful to the consular officer to evaluate your petitioners ability to be financially responsible for you. You should also submit your petitioners most recent U.S. Federal income tax return (Form 1040) and wage statements (Form W-2). Employment letters stating salaries and bank statements may be included to substantiate the I-134. Download Form I-134 at http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis. "

The new instructions letter reads very differently, the old letter stated you should submit an I-134... with the new one it is "will be useful". The only "should" part is the tax return and W2 now it seems. But do they take that even?

Very Interesting on them not requiring I-134 recently. This may be a new procedure they are going to try to adopt.

I did a K1 back in 2008 and Delbros was the Visa Delivery Company back then, not Air21 or 2Go.

They had a fail experiment called Document Verification, After the interview almost everyone went to AP for about 1 month since Cenomar and a Birth Certificate requested from them appropriate place and Delbros delivered to USEM for Verification that the documents you submitted was authentic.

I want to say Document Verification lasted around 4 to 6 months before the stopped the process.

This is odd, i really find this odd coz they said its a requirement. I cant deny the fact that it makes me worried that all of sudden becoz they didnt took it, they will just issue us a 221g out in a blue and get stuck with AP. Even the first front loading of our application to uscis, we didnt even have included any form i134 but there is a part on the 129f form that states to list all of your employment history. Its the 5th day and Im still stuck with ready. i would only get relieved if i can finally see the word issued in my status.. ?????

Hmm i admit i do find it odd as well... I can't think of why they wouldn't want to at least verify some source of income at that point...

Could it be because of the kind of Job/Title we listed on our G325?? I have no idea. I will contiune to check CEAC..

net2684 and Omygracious please update us on when you are "issued" that would really easy my mind seeing someone who wasn't asked for their I134 but got their visa in hand.

My interview was today and the CO didn't asked for my I-134 neither. I thought they would asked this because my fiancee just graduated from college and we have to prove she can support me. But the CO just asked for my intentions to continue working in the US and I guess that's good enough for him. He congratulated me that I passed and wished me goodluck.
