Immigrant data sheet is attached to the DO NOT OPEN packet, you will need to make a copy for CFO plus they want to see the original (annoying considering it is attached to the envelope)

Info on CFO in my link below

Hi Hank, so she doesn't open the packet when she receives it?

Hi Hank, so she doesn't open the packet when she receives it?

Everything will arrive in a plastic bag, this you can open to remove the passport. My suggestion is to keep the DO NOT OPEN envelope in the plastic bag except when you need to make a copy of the Immigrant Data sheet and show it to CFO. Also keep it in the carry-bag during the flight as it will be needed immediately at POE.

I meant the DO NOT OPEN envelope. She doesn't open this? Is the immigration data sheet attached to the outside of the envelope?

It is stamped DO NOT OPEN for a reason ;) Don't even let it get a tear in it, that is why I say protect it. You can be turned away at POE if it is torn or appears to be tampered with. Yes the Immigrant Data sheet is attached to the outside.

I started the petition process in June 2014. I130 was approved in less than 2 months. We received the interview letter on December 2012. Didn't take that long for us.

You must have a charmed relationship to get interview 1 1/2 years before submitting I130. :jest:

Anyway we filed late June 2014 and packet has been at NVC over 2 1/2 months with no activity. Called today to inquire and after 30 min wait was told by a nice young lady to be patient! So what else is new. FWIW she also said that's longer than most but offered no explanation.

Go figure!

Wow, I'm glad you shared this with us, bb. I thought, based on the VJ timeline, NVA was a relatively short and easy hurdle. Looks like that's not always the case. Hope it works out for you soon.

Oops I messed up on the date. We received the interview letter on December of 2014 not 2012. :) It took us about 6 months to get everything done.
