So, my mother-in-law just told us I have received a letter for a biometrics appointment in two weeks. I'm a little baffled, why do I need to do biometrics at this stage, does anyone know? I moved in October on a spousal visa (IR-1) and now have my 10 year GC in hand.

Also the biometrics appointment is scheduled in Omaha, but we know live in Maryland, and I notified USCIS of the new address a month ago. If I really do have to do biometrics, will I be able to reschedule it to the Baltimore office? I won't be able to travel all the way to Omaha in such a short notice :(

IR1 took 520 days....

I would take the Bio appointment letter and make a copy of it. I would also make a copy of your AR-11 receipt and the front and back of your GC and submit that to the Ohama office and to the mail in change of address location. I would then look for the local ASC office in your area and take some time and visit them with the same information you have sent to the of two locations. They can take your biometrics and also update you file. It sounds like a clerical error, but I would not just ignor it. You can find the local office for your location in MD here: https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=offices.summary&OfficeLocator.office_type=ASC&OfficeLocator.statecode=MD

Good luck,

Dave
