K1 London Timeline - Help Needed!

Hello All!

I am wondering if anyone out there can help and put my mind at ease? I will try to keep it short and sweet. Briefly ...

  • We are a UK/Pennsylvania K1 visa at TSC
  • NOA1 July 25th (No NOA2 yet .... grrrr)

Basically I am trying to figure out our potential timeline from now until I can arrive in the states. I am looking to go on a family holiday in mid June 2015 to Florida for my parents 30th wedding anniversary and originally when we filed back in July I thought this process would be over by then and I could easily attend.

However with the frustrating processing times at TSC I am not sure if that my visa would be issued by then.

I really need to attend this trip so I guess my question is if I dont get my NOA2 until March/April - What is the timeline from NOA2 to Interview at London?

Also if I am getting quite close the June and my interview time is too close - Can you move the interview back? Or is there ways I could delay the process until after June if I was to get my NOA2 too late?

I appreciate this is a wordy questions and I GREATLY appreciate anyone who takes the time to read and answer - but this is giving me real worries!!

Thanks all!

Jay

The time varies a lot by--

How long to get NOA2?

How long for the service center to send to NVC...a week...a month??

Then 2-3 months to process in London and have the visa in hand.

You can control the timeline for the London part because they will not issue an interview date until you have submitted three things. Hold any back and you can delay your interview until after the holiday.

1) DS-160 (online)

2) Medical results received by embassy

3) Readiness for interview form submitted (online)

Thanks!! I really really appreciate your reply!!

I thought this was the case but wanted to wanted to get the opinion of the VJ experts!!

How long can you delay these by i.e. is there an expiration on the petition?

TSC makes it so hard to plan

The approved petition is valid for four months. If you don't interview before that, London requests in their letter of instruction (packet 3) that the petitioner sign a new letter of intent. The beneficiary takes it to the interview. Easy peasy. I think you can stall up to a year.

You can also reschedule the interview using this form http://london.usembassy.gov/niv/visa_contact_form.html
