I rarely watch TV but sometimes I come across stuff that is so egregious that it somehow makes me understand why some people would just want to blow us all up. Some of the stuff peddled as entertainment is so intellectually offensive.

Depending on what Kardashian you're talking about. The only one who matters is Kourtney. The rest have been "blackened" so to speak.

If the people who did committed these crimes did so because they find modern culture so banal and offensive they would have put more thought into their motives than seems apparent. Edited by Hail Ming!

What's funny is folks don't know why this is.

Back in 2000, when the SAG was on strike, Survivor first aired. May, I think. It was the first real reality show outside of the real world or cops that was a huge success. Remember how big it was? The folks on the show got invited to the Oscars. Producers uncovered one horrible truth that they've been milking to this day: people will do almost anything for 15 minutes of fame, even if there's very little or no money involved. That's why there's a billion reality shows on.

For that you need to look at shows like 24 - imperialist porn by way of TV drama. A man character who has no redeeming qualities of any kind gets a 9 season run? People clearly didn't watch that show for its character based drama.

A large majority of the public. If it makes money, they will keep churning them out. At some point, someone might make a show about live executions. And if you keep the people who were killed in a certain vein(i.e. the undesirables) folks would pay to watch that 24/7.
