Interview questions -- when are you planning to get married?

I am pretty confused by some of the sample interview questions I've seen online. For example, one question I see on most of the websites I've looked at is "When are you planning to get married?"

What am I supposed to reply to this? Obviously we can't get married until the application has been processed and approved by the very people who are asking this question. It seems like the only valid response is "Once you approve my application."

Any advice/suggestions? Has anyone been through this?

I think by the time all is ready, my answer would be "oh about 8 months ago" :dancing:

Ideally, I really wanted to be married already….but I suppose good things come to those who wait?

I believe I replied something like "We don't have a set date yet, but plan to marry a couple weeks after I arrive in the US". I think I also mentioned that given the process, it wasn't possible to set a date.

Answering 'once you approve my application' would not be considered flippant if you use the correct inflection. I'd say that is the only answer that is really relevant - anything else can only be pure speculation.

Although I would not respond in those words, that IS basically the correct answer. They just

want to make sure you know that you have to get married within those 90 days, so answering

"we don't have a date set yet, of course, but we'd like to get married within a few weeks after

my arrival, depending on how soon we can get the license, the minister's schedule etc.".

So, any answer is good, as long as it indicates that you don't have a fixed date set yet, and

will get married within those 90 days..

Good luck on your journey !!
