Hello,

My fiance and I handed in our I-129F form last July and are awaiting it's approval.

Can anyone tell us what happens next and whether there is anything we can be doing while we are waiting, eg. forms to fill in, stuff to collate etc.

I am already scheduling my immunisations, renewing my passport and applying for my police record.

Can anyone tell us what else myself in the UK or my fiance in the US should or could be doing? And also what the next steps will be, and any way we can be prepared. We want to have everything ready so there are no delays once we get approval.

Any information or help would be most appreciated.

Many thanks.

There is a guide for London in the UK FORUM http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/474161-london-k1-a-complete-guide/

It's got some corrections added to the end, so read all of the thread. Some links are broken too, but it is still a good summary of what you will experience with London.

Many thanks for that, most helpful.

I looked through it all, and have a question.

Does my fiance in the US have to send any more forms in (I-134 being the one I can see) before my interview or is the I-134 for when we change my status after we get married?

Yet again any information would be most helpful.

Many thanks

You require a financial sponsor for the visa. I-134 and proof of income to go with it are taken to the visa interview.

When you adjust status, you will again require a financial sponsor for your green card. The form I-864 with financial documentation is mailed with the application.

Thanks for the confirmation. We are filling out the I-134 form now.

Does my fiance have to earn a specific amount of money?

She earns $20,000 a year at the moment. Will that be enough or will we have to get someone else to also sponsor me?

Thanks for all your help.

She/he does, and you can look up the federal poverty guidelines regarding this. They base it on family size. Also, check travel state.gov k1 for further information.
