Hi all, I am new to this site, but was following all the posts here since day 1 of our K1 visa journey. This site really helped me and my fiance a lot with the whole process. From filing, to medical, to interview scheduling to interview date. When NVC forwarded the case to USEM , and found on the site that our case was On READY status, I already scheduled my interview. Ive learned here to not wait for the USEM instruction letter, as sometimes they dont send it. Good thing i didnt wait because until now, visa approved and all, still no Instruction letter from USEM in mail.

So here is my question, I have a BP22 case that was dismissed on May of this year. I did have the court dismissal letter and all and was able to bring it to the interview, which was on NoVember 19, 2014. I anticipated about the NBI thing since ive been reading to this site , and what to do and how to go about it. The US consul said that all my papers were fine and that he is approving mine and my k2's visa. But he said that he needed one more document from me and wait for my name to be called at the releasing window. The guy at releasing told me to wait that week, my interview was a Wednesday, for an email instructing me what to do with my nbi. If I dont receive the email within that week, he said I expect the visa. My case is A/P since Day of interview. After waiting for almost 3 weeks, no email, no visa.

My fiance called Usem 301-2000 and was told by the woman to just wait, we waited and still no email. My fiance was really not happy with how they assure me of the visa coming if we dont receive the email within that week. So he called a lot of times, on Dec 10 My fiance begged for that email to be send to me, thank God finally I received the email from them that day. I went to NBi on Dec 11, NBI forwArded the letter of explanation to USEM on Dec 12. On DEC 17, the letter wAs forwarded to the US consul who interviewed me, and was told that the Consul will make the necessary review. My fiance even sent a fax letter to the consul on Dec 23 to help us expedite our case as we really want to be together by the end of the year. What I dont get, is I have met a woman who went to NbI same day with me, had interview also but her visa was issued on DEC 18. I know there are a lot of holidays this december, I just want to know how long will I wait for my visa to be issued ? Has anyone gone through the same situation like mine, please help me be enlightened, as I am really stressing and thinking so much about this, thank you!

No two cases are the same, what happens will one person will not happen with the next person. Now that USEM has your letter of explanation you just need to be patient, keep checking status on the CEAC website daily, and check your email for any additional emails from USEM.

Patience is key here.

Thank you Hank, I am starting to stress and lose patience, thinking what could be wrong. But what can I do, just wait... I hope I receive good news come 1st week of January.

But do you think as long a case was dismissed, will not affect my eligibility to receive the visa? No 221g form was given after interview. And I remember clearly the US CO told me that he is approving my visa.

Is there a case you heard that a CO approved a visa, put on AP for months and later on denied it

Thank you so much for the reply...

The case was dismissed so I doubt there will be an issue... just my personal opinion. ;)

Hi, yes that is a good indication that your case is being worked on now from being in AP for so long! My fiancee's VISA application too has been in AP for more than a month and the last updated status earlier changed from Administrative Processing to READY and Please check back in 2 business days. In 2 days your status might be ISSUED already. Goodluck to US..
