Travelling with an Expiring Passport

Hi everyone! I would like to ask if it's fine to travel back to my country with an expiring passport. I am a Filipino citizen, currently waiting for my Greencard (I have EAD and AP already). I will travel back to the Philippines on March 2nd. My passport will expire on April 26th. I am planning to renew my passport while in the Philippines. Will I have any problems boarding on flights? Anyone here who has the same experience? Thank you in advance to anyone who will share some insights.

Hi, I had the same story. My passport was about to expire in January 2015, so I went back home in October and came back to the US in November. So, I renewed my passport back home (I renewed it on maiden name, but my EAD AP is on married name) my airtickets were on maiden name (as stated in my passport). In my country they let you keep old passport, so I kept it.

Traveling back to the US: i used my new passport (cos in the secondary inspection they put paroled stamp) also had my old passport (just in case if someone needs to see it, but noone asked) also I had with me my marriage papers and of course EAD AP card.

Hi Loving_girl, thank you very much for your response! That's a relief! I hope I won't have problems boarding the plane too. My tickets are on my maiden name too.

You are welcome! As long as your tickets both ways match passport names you will have no problem! Leaving the US they do not pay attention to the EAD AP, just check names in passport and ticket. Good luck with your trip!
