Does home delivery of visa take longer than picking up visa at a depot?

It makes sense to me that a batch of packages from all over (not just the embassy) arrive at the regional sorting center...the depot. Then they are put on trucks to the different towns or neighborhoods possibly to go out the next day. So yeah, I think there is a greater possibility that home delivery would be one day after arrival at the depot. But if they work all night like UPS and FedEx, it could get to the sorting facility at midnight and be sorted and on the truck for delivery by morning. Since you can't fetch it in the middle of the night, delivery and pick-up could be the same day.

I think it will be quicker to pick it up. I managed to get mine on a Tuesday (by picking it up), otherwise they said it would be thursday before they could deliver it. However, i imagine generally the delay shouldn't be much more than one day, in most cases.
