Do passport application at oath cermony? Oakland, CA

Hi there,

Does anyone know if it is worth trying to do your passport application at the oath ceremony. It will be in Oakland, CA and you can do it, according to a flyer. I'm wondering if it will take ages and is just worth doing it at a later time.

Any one have any experience?

You have to send off your brand new naturalization certificate with the passport application. You might not want to part with it minutes after you earned it. Just a thought. You can prepare the application at home on the computer, print it, get your photo, and go to the post office in a leisurely manner. It could be chaotic at your ceremony. Ours had thousands of people there. I would personally choose not to.

He did fill out a voter registration after the ceremony, but that was short and free.

i did it.. and i think its worth it in a sense that i don't need to wait hours in post office
