Hello,

After a long time, I am one without answers. I have read a lot about what happens at the Service center but, now that my case is approved am not sure what happens now.

I know according to the guide, it goes to the NVC. Over there it is assigned a case number and then forwarded on to the consulate. What I am wondering is how do you actually check the status of your applications now that is is approved. Does the USCIS website still tells you statuses like "received at NVC" , "Case number assigned" ... (some that were listed in people's signatures) or would I need to do extra calling to NVC and stuff.

Basically I am trying to find out the best ways to track my application from this point onwards.

Please share your experinces.

Thanks.

Nope, you will have to call or email NVC with your receipt number. Because you're filing for a K3 you need to speak to a live person there. NVC will also send you a snail mail letter when they transfer the case to the consulate.

Give it a week or two and then call or email them. They also perform security checks there so the time your case stays at NVC varies.

(603 334-0700 from 7:30 AM to 12:30 AM (EST) Monday through Friday, or e-mail: NVCINQUIRY@state.gov

If you email, put your receipt number in the subject line and reference that as well as the petitioner's name and date of birth along with the beneficiary's name and date of birth.

Just found this page and it lists some of the points your brought out.

Still confused on what happens afterwards. This flowchart says NVC center uses DHL to send the application to the consulate. How can I track it at DHL (does the NVC helpline tell me the tracking number?) Some people have successfully done this.

Also, be aware that CSC is pretty slow sometimes sending approved petitions to NVC.

As for DHL tracking: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=43339
