Hi there,

I mailed a request for extension letter to the Frankfurt Consulate a month ago, as per their instructions, I haven't heard anything back yet. Can someone tell me how they go about notifying you and how long it usually takes?

We have the whole process to go through - turning in paperwork, paying fees, medical, interview - and I don't want to start that until I'm certain we've been granted the extension.

Thanks for any help!

Your timeline indicates waiting almost 5 months from the issue of your NOA2 to get into this matter of postponing further process procedures.

Though it is a long period of time I suggest: Call that Embassy and update them and give a viable reason and will be noted as all contact from you is recorded. Have your Case#, names DOB on hand. You will get your answer. Don't rely on a letter without a follow-up. Sure, others will say: it's automatic. Not always... So Call.
