Hi all. Can someone provide me with a legitimate working phone number to the marriage registry in ikoyi? I googled it and got several but they're wrong. My fian'ce is going to register us prior to my arrival and I want to know if he's going to need any documents from me to take with him. And what documents he needs for himself, and how much money he needs at time of registry. Thank you.

No number but he will definitely need a pic of you by yourself to be posted on the notice board outside. Any divorce decrees, your birth certificate and money of course.

My advice is let him go the registry to make inquiry if he lives within Lagos or have someone go inquire for him.About three years ago when i went making inquiry at Ikoyi registry i was asked to bring 2 or 3 passport photos of myself & wife, photocopy of her International Passport data page, being that she isn't a Nigerian, proof of spinsterhood or divorce decree, & i was asked to pay almost #70,000 because i was marrying a non-nigerian.After some research we decided marrying at a local government area where i'm resident & not Ikoyi. We later understood that all marriage license issued by accredit body, be it a church, mosque,Local government registry or even Ikoyi Registry is accepted by the US Consulate in Lagos. So do your research.

Thank you. Your info is helpful. I can't imagine anything else they could want when I appear in person. But I want to make sure I bring it with me if they do. It's not like I can run home and get it.

Yes, I just got married in Ikoyi in May 2014 and my husband paided $450 prior to me coming and I sent him a spinster letter my passport page and he made copies of my passport photo to give them. (Also, everything had to be in color, even his passport page.) You need to send all of this prior to going. You will need to give the officant something as well. The day of the wedding, our family and his friends all gave her money.( You can give wine and other stuff.) We also had to pay $1000N for a offical photo.

Good Luck
