More Name Question

Hi,

I just want to be sure about the new name. Let's say my wife's maiden name is Jane Susan Doe and she was the K1 visa holder and married to me. My name is John Smith. On the AOS forms, even though all her documents stated her name Jane Susan Doe, can she use different combination of names on the AOS forms? For example,

New name:

Jane Smith or

Jane Susan Doe Smith or

Jane Susan Smith or

Jane Doe Smith or

Jane Susan Doe

So she can use any combination of these on her forms? Are you guys doing the same on yours?

Is this true in general?? My husband has a really long name that's hard to pronounce. He's always used a nick name (many Thai people do) and now that he's in the U.S., he wants to legally use his nick name. We didn't make the change on his AOS forms. What can we do now?

Not sure about that, but I do know that with the OP the fact that she married him and will be taking his legal name (I assume) means she can use that name on the forms. As far as your husband though, I'm not too sure. If he can legally change his name to his nickname then I think it's a slightly expensive process to get his name changed on his greencard but I'm not too sure.
