Hello Guys,

Need to ask one question if i have got USA visa stamp after long time in AP ,can i travel to another country for instance dubai before travelling to USA, does it creates any issue at POE?

Thanks

You could travel to Dubai without any problems at POE but you take the chance of customs in Dubai opening your Do Not Open visa package to see what's in it. I read on visa journey of someone who went to another country before coming to the United States and even though he asked them not to they opened the package.

do you know what happened after that?

Thank u for pointing out that possibility, for so many days now I have been telling my husband we should visit Dubai once he gets his visa and then travel on to US. but now I think thats a big risk not worth taking after reading your post.

If your visa package is opened for any reason you would have to send it back to the embassy in Islamabad to be sealed again.

Does the embassy have your husband's passport? You could always ask for it back and take a quick trip to Dubai. Don't let time stand still while waiting for your visa.

Dear hope for the best, I have heard that embassy fully try to issue visa before medical expires even if 1 week left in medical expiration. Embassy calls the person and ask the applicant that if they can travel in 1 week. So pray and be ready. Hope we all get over nightmare AP :/ I pray for all our VJ family here.

The nvc operater has informed me that the administrative process is over. He also told me that i will need a new medical. Do you have any idea how soon the embassy might contact us?

Did your friend and her husband get any home visits, second interview or anything else while they waited in AP or was it just AP for a long time then vissa issued????

Awwwww, dont think like that, maybe you should get a lawyer to see whats going on I know no one can speed up AP but it can atleast loosen things up, pull the file out of the pile.

I am the USC and I was the one that got the home visit, my husband did not.

I agree with Carolyn...hiring a lawyer won't help. They are just expensive paper pushers. The one I hired filled out the forms and gave us the heads up of all the paperwork they would ask for...that was really the only advantage.

The embassy does have my husband's passport. Well the whole point of traveling somewhere nice was to celebrate getting out of this nightmare, At this point I just want to be with him,, it doesnt matter where. I will see how next month plays out, before his medical expires, I hope they issue it before it expires. or else I will just have to take a trip to Pakistan. :(

Oh I remember your story, I followed a lot of your posts, and remember your husband got his visa recently.

You're right, if it comes down to it, I would ask for a senator or congressmans help rather then a lawyer, cant afford one.
