I applied for AP with all the other paperwork on October 9. I'd like to leave to go back to Canada and do a work contract in early January - will my AP likely be approved by then? Does a work contract count as an acceptable reason for "emergency" AP, and can I even apply for emergency AP when I have already applied the usual way?

Thanks for any help you can give me ... this process sure is complicated!

It usually take about 75-85 days to get approval. However, mine was pretty fast. I applied on Sept 23, and got approved message from them today. Total 44 days only.

Yes, some people get approved in as little as 45 days, others up to 90 days. Maybe you can request an expedite due to possible financial loss.

Here is a link with the expedite criteria:

Wow, that was fast! Congrats on it going so quickly. Do they need biometrics done or anything before the AP is processed?

Thanks for the link! I had been looking for that info on the USCIS site but couldn't find it.
