I got a checklist for my I 864 part 6 13.a And I am so confused now. I did not file taxes for tax years 2013,2012 and 2013 because I was exempt with no income.

In Part 6 13.a I filled in 2013 for the tax year and in the 13.a.1 total income I pd ut 0.00 and was checklisted for it according to NVC representative. The asked for my 2013 Tax return which I dont have because I did not file. The NVC rep told me that the reason I was checklisted for it ws because I put a year in the 13.a box and that I should have left it blank since I do not have returns for those years.

I am confused because a friend of mine did the same thing and they were not checklisted for it....help. DHL will be here any time to pick up the corrected package.

That's stupid. People gotten checklists for not putting anything in there. You did the right thing - $0 for people with no income. Did you include a statement for not having filed tax returns/having made zero income?

Yes ..I included a nice written explanation of why I was exempt from filing and copy of the IRS threshold for being exempt right of their website . The new 1 864 now says NA in the tax years and NA in the amount boxes ...I wrote below the section...not required to file I had no income . I also made out another i 864 withs the years in the boxs and 0.00 in the amount and wrote not required to file on this one too...this process is making me crazy. Which should I put in the package ...????

I am hoping to call NVC before DHL gets here and ask for a supervisor...

I called NVC and spoke with a person that was soooooo much help! She asked if it was ok for her to walk me through each error and help me exactly what to put in the boxes lol. I had to put the tax years in the boxes and write not filed in the total amount boxs in black ink.The write at bottom of section 6 Tax returns not filed no income .

I quickly filled in an printed a new i 864 ...checked it over and over and over again...printed name...signed name and dated the #######. PATIENTLY waiting now for DHL Express lol.
