Understanding NVC case status

Our case status on "ceac.state.gov" went straight from AT NVC to IN TRANSIT.

I thought it was suppose to go to a READY. Or does it go to READY when it gets to the embassy?

We are a bit confused about this step. Please share any knowledge you have about this. Thank you!!!

as I thougt Ready means it reached the consulate..but now not that sure. Ours changed to ready on 31st. Called the embassy yesterday and they could not confirm that they have our papers and suggested to wait for an email from the consulate (as I understood they send everything through email here, not mail) or to write them an email myself and ask.
