Hi, I would need some help/feedback regarding filing form I-864:

My petitioner/husband (the US citizen), will not be able to be my only sponsor, as he does not meet the financial requirements (yet).

His father, has offered to help us out by being what I understand as a joint sponsor.

So my question is how to file?

Do both of them have to fill out separate i-864 forms, or does just my father in law file?

And if both do how should we check the fields in section 1. ?

Would that mean that on my husbands I-864 form he checks field: 1.a I am the petitioner. I filed or am filing for the immigration of my relative

And my father in laws separate I-864 would check field: 1.d I am the only joint sponsor

I just need some reassurance to make sure I file this properly.

And if there's any other thing I should be weary about with submitting these forms that isn't in the instructions (sometimes they are super vague) please let me know!

Any help / feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Love, Jana
