DO NOT, throw your K-1 rights away!!!

Do not get married here in USA!

File K-1 visa, and go back to Canada, you can visit!

If you do K-1, you are anywhere from 1 month to 6 months, depending on the Service Center you are sent to, CSC, is 30-60 days, TSc, is 5-6 months.

CR-1 is a 12 to 16 month ""nightmare"".,.,.,., it is up to you.,.,do not do anything on a ""spur"" of the moment, that gets you an CR-1.,.,.,.and 1 and 1/2 years!

We are merely informing OP of the differences of each visa. Some people find it very frustrating and inconvenient when they finally arrive in the USA and are unable to work or travel. I have done a lot of reading and see this a lot. It is ultimately up to the OP. We are just trying to ensure OP has as much information as possible to make the best choice for them as a couple.

BTW.. any time away from one's loved one is a nightmare. I have read some K1 "nightmares" here also. Just sayin' :)

Really? Mine was an 8 month journey and it was fine. Some people do NOT want the K1. I purposely did not choose the K1 because the disadvantages to it including the cost.
