Hi everyone,

I'm at a point where I'm starting to plan my trip to Manila for the medical examination and the Interview. Since I intend to not waste money going there by spending an extra night in a hotel I'm wondering if arriving at 10 am in St Lukes for the Medical is okay to do the medical in 2 days?

Also is it okay to arrive at 10am in the Embassy? How do schedules and time work on both St Lukes and the Embassy?

Thanks

Better arrived at 6am for your appointment to st. Lukes. I haven't tried the embassy yet but you have to arrive there based on your appointment time. If your appointment is 7am be there 30 minutes before your interview

St. Luke's is first come first served, you could arrive there at 10AM and start your medical (it is normally a 2 day event), the medical should be completed a week before your interview.

Embassy interview, I suggest you arrive at least 45 minutes before your appointment time.

Thanks Hank!

If I arrive at 10 am is there a possibility that I won't be allowed to go in anymore?

Never seen any for the afternoon. I think they do the interviews in the mornings and processing in the afternoons.

Yes, you can attend your cfo without your visa yet. Get an appointment in their website www.cfo.gov.ph they will give a certificate once you have your visa you can come back to cfo for your sticker.

this thread answered almost all the possible questions I have re: SLEC, CFO and USEM except one.

I read from some old forum that SLEC has SPECIFIC days for beneficiaries with kids doing the medicals on the same day (K1/K2). I wanna know if this is still the case.

I'm a 2hour plane ride from Manila and I wanna go through the process in a week or less-to save some time and money. Do SLEC on Monday and Tuesday. CFO on Wednesday and USEM on Friday.

Thanks. I highly appreciate any response. :dancing:

Yes that is correct. They don't give young children a chest x ray but instead use a skin test procedure that takes two full days to complete. That means if you have a kid with you, you can only go there Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday because the kid has to report back exactly two days after the skin test is administered to see the results.

This is why adults without children can find the shortest lines if they go Thursday or Friday, the two days that kids can't do it.

Usually not possible to do your interview the same week as your medical. St. Luke's is not fast enough in getting the med results to USEM fast enough for that to happen. I have heard some people got away with it, but they were lucky. Sometimes if you tell them your interview is on Friday they will put yours in high gear and get it there by Friday.

SOMETIMES.

Most of the time if you try it, the med will not be at USEM on time, and you will get 221(g) for not having a med on file.

So not a good idea.

Better choice is to get to St; Lukes at least one week before interview.

Yes the process for children requires 3 days, only start the medical on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday. So your plan to start the medical on Monday or Tuesday should work just fine. As for CFO you will have to see how that can be scheduled around SLEC for day 3.
