hello everyone. I'm a U.S. Citizen and I'm bringing my wife and two kids here. We are on our ds260 stage and I sent my documents and affidavit of support last month and when I called NVC today, the person I was talking to said that if everything goes well, my 60th day waiting period will be on nov 3. Suddenly I started panicking because now, I'm not sure if I sent the right affidavit of support form for my two kids.

This is what I did

Wife - I-864 with supporting documents ( tax transcripts , employment letter and so on )

Two kids ages 9 and 5 - i-864w because somebody here suggests to do this since I'm a U.S. Citizen.

Did i screwed up or I'm in the right path?

Fyi: I became a U.S. Citizen but not before my kids were born.

Hi. We got checklisted for submitting i864 for our son. Checklist says to use the i864w since petitioner is a USC which is my husband. He filed i864 for me and i864w for my son then. My husband isnt a USC when our son was born. He got naturalized two months after son's birth.

Hi ,

Whatever your case was , doesn't matter, I had the same sent in , but am a US Citizen by birth, I864W is meant for waiving the AOS for both your kids, and it applies the CCA2000 which states that your kids will automatically gain citizenship as soon as they enter as a Legal Immigrant .

you don't have to worry about this but , keep a copy of it as it will be required in the interview and please go through the CCA2000 section201,202 & 203 and have full knowledge as on my interview I had to explain it to him (NVC Attorney in consulate) that my income includes my wife only ( that I have to pass the poverty guidelines ) for one member only , as the kids are waived ( meaning I don't have to meet any poverty guidelines for them, as they will gain citizenship automatically, as long as they have entered the united states as legal immigrant )

Good Luck

Regards,

Tam
