That damn Bill Maher. Speaking out against the religious practice of genital mutilation. What was he thinking

Too bad it happens in majority Christian countries.

“Hate is too great a burden to bear. It injures the hater more than it injures the hated.” – Coretta Scott King

"Oppressive language does more than represent violence; it is violence; does more than represent the limits of knowledge; it limits knowledge." -Toni Morrison

He who passively accepts evil is as much involved in it as he who helps to perpetrate it.

Bill Maher would have if he took the time to do the research, or have an ACTUAL Muslim on the show while he's criticizing Islam. It's amazes me that it's all people want to talk about yet, it makes no sense to have a conversation about it with someone of the faith.

Actually, it's a cultural thing not a religious thing.

Please elaborate. Honestly ? Do Christian or people of other faiths practice this. It's bizarre either way.

As MBD said, it's more about the culture. The countries that Aslan reported were both Christian countries that practiced FGM. Not Muslim.

Male circumcision is genital mutilation and that's practised quite heavily in America who is a Christian nation, and Israel who is Jewish.

Snake handling, also called serpent handling, is a religious ritual in a small number of Pentecostal churches in the U.S., usually characterized as rural and part of the Holiness movement. The practice began in the early 20th century in Appalachia, and plays only a small part in the church service. Practitioners believe serpent handling dates to antiquity and quote the Gospel of Mark and the Gospel of Luke to support the practice

Yet the vast majority of Christians do not practice this. In fact, most Christian's think snake handling has nothing to do with Christianity.
