Hello everyone!

Waiting for my interview next monday, was curious about something. At the ustraveldocs website I noticed some security regulations they have. Namely the ones about not bringing and electronic items or bags/backpacks with you. What slightly bothers me is this: "There is no facility at the Embassy or Consulate to store prohibited items. You must make arrangements to store these items before entering.".

I am curious to see what people's experiences were with this, especially people who don't live in Seoul. We'll be bringing clothes with us and such and I want to make sure if I should leave absolutely everything at the hotel and then come back to pick it up after the interview or not. I am asking because at some US consulates they have a locker room where you can leave your belongings.

Thanks.

You can't get in with the cellphone. Most hotels will safeguard your belongings even after you have checked out. Just give the clerk a nice tip, and he/she will take care of you, no problem.

As for the backpacks, most embassies just don't want to have to hand search big packs. There are over a thousand people coming there on interview day, and it is just too much work for them. Just bring a small bag to hold the documents you need to have.
