Do pill form medication have to be declared? l have them in original boxes.

Do i tell the guy at passport control i have them in my carry on?

i have a connection flight from detroit to milwaukee. Do i put the meds into the tray?

or do i just tell them l have meds on me before i go through the body scanner?

Do i declare my medication on customs form?

Just put them in your carry on.

You don't have to declare them. If your bags get randomly searched, then the original prescription bottle distinguishes you as legal. If it's non-prescription meds, then being in original bottle identifies them. I travel with an assortment of headache, tummy ache, sinus, and just in case meds every time. Once I did get picked for a bag search and the guy held up a bottle of liquid and said "what kind of medicine is this?" --Shampoo. It's on the label.

Doesn't really matter where you carry your meds.

A gift like that is supposed to be written on the form.
