Hi, I hope someone here can help help us. Has anyone here recently been interviewed for US Visa (immigrant status). What is the current process now on the day of the interview?

My family was just interviewed today, but no mention of them being approved. After interview by the consul, after waiting, they were called to window 72 where the papers were then inspected again. They were just handed back the appointment letter and was told "You can go home now."

What does this mean? Were they approved? Or were they denied? Do they give you back your passport and papers upon denial or do they send it to you via 2go? Also, in case that they were approved, what time frame does it usually take for them to send your passport and visa?

Sorry po for the long post. My wife was unable to ask any questions so I have no idea what is happening. It has been 6 years since I was last interviewed, and it seems like there were some changes in the process.

I hope someone here can help me clear this matter up, so that we know how we can proceed. Thank you.

More power.

Did she receive passport?

She should hv asked to CO. Never mind, just check the status of visa on CEAC. They send psssport with visa n visa packet through 2go only. It wilk take 8 to 10 days to receive passport. If she would hv been denied,CO would hv given 221G to her. Did she receive something like this? If not,she is approved. Consulate will return psssport after around a week.

If they didn't get their passport back or was told the passport will be delivered via 2go, then it's most likely approved. Like the previous posted said, try checking CEAC. It should say AP, then ISSUED within a few days (sometimes a week or so).

Thank you Shonafahad and Yannix for your reply. They didn't get their passport back, but was also not instructed what will happen next. I tried checking CEAC, but it doesn't seem like it's updated yet at the moment, so it's hard to tell. Hopefully everything will be ok.

Thank you again for your replies.
