Once I received the letter from the NVC stating that they will forward the petition to the Consulate in Manila, how long should it take for my fiancee to get the Forms and Checklist? How long does it normally take for them to contact her to process the petition?

The letter that I received from the NVC was written on August 25, 2014.

It also says to go to ceac.state.gov and compete the DS-160 form to apply for K Visa. Should she do this now? I heard they should wait till they receive the letters from the consulate with the forms and checklist before doing anything.

Its mid September now, should I give the consulate a call and see what the status is? Or do I just need to continue to wait it out more.

Thank you!

I got approved on July 29. The embassy didn't send me any checklist. Just help your fiancée prepare for the interview. I do it myself.

Everything is online now. Here is the interview instructions:

Since she already has the MNL number, she can pay the visa fee at BPI and schedule her interview. You didn't need to wait for the NVC letter.

Here is Hank's guide, its the K-1 bible, please read it. EVERYTHING you need to know is on it.

You can fill out the DS-160 anytime as long as its before the interview. Don't wait for the letters, they almost never come. I've been in the US 9 months now, and still haven't received that letter.

You have your MNL # ... it is ROCK n ROLL time!!

Everything is online, no forms are sent to you. The case file usually gets to Manila and setup in their system within a couple weeks of NVC sending it. Email a copy of the NVC letter to your fiancee in the Phils.

For sure DO NOT WAIT for any letter from USEM, just follow the flashing arrow below, then click the link, everything is listed there for the complete process in the Philippines.

No need to call the embassy.

You can do the DS-160 anytime before the day of the interview.
