About a month ago, I received an email indicating that my application to adjust was now ready for interview scheduling. The USCIS website still lists this as my current status and I have not yet received an interview date. Does it normally take this long to fix the date of the interview? I believe my application is with the Nebraska office.

If it matters, I am adjusting from a J-1 via marriage to a US citizen. They received my AOS package on 7 July, I completed biometrics on 1 August and my EAD/AP card was ordered for production a couple of days ago.

depends on many factors, but the main factor is how many cases there are before yours. you will know when you actually have been scheduled, as the website will show you the date and time of you interview and informing you that the physical letter has been sent to the address they have on file.

A tier 2 IO told me when I called the USCIS customer service number that if it has been 75 or 80 days it would be appropriate to make an infopass appointment to get an update from an IO at the field office (as that is here they do scheduling). But as you've probably realized some people get appointments set a week after they change to testing/interview and others are at that stage for months. YMMV.

We waited six months to get more info, then they said they would respond within a thirty-day window. They didn't, so our lawyer contacted them on day thirty-one and he was told that because our priority date wasn't earlier than the date displayed in the "Processing Timeframe" on the USCIS processing times page (our priority date actually was the date displayed), they wouldn't do anything. The annoying part is that the processing dates are always from a while back. So we are currently in mid-September, yet the processing dates are displayed throughout the end of July. Meaning USCIS is presumably a month and a half past the date displayed, which in turn means we have to wait until whenever they update the processing times in October for us to show that we need to escalate.

Yeah I have a hard time believing those dates on the USCIS' website. They are so rarely updated and folks here have reported they have dates significantly after the dates shown and have had interviews.

Who knows how it all really works. I suppose the main point is be prepared to wait an eternity

You mean people have priority dates that are earlier than the "Currently working on:" date displayed on the processing times page?

If you look at the AOS data here under immigration times (for your local office) and compare peoples' dates with the processing times on the USCIS' website you will see some people with dates after what is posted have gotten interviews.

This is why I'm perplexed. My city's field office displays a "Processing date" of my exact priority date. Keeping in mind that this data is from July 31st, I'm kind of shocked that six weeks have passed from the day they were supposedly working on my file and we haven't heard anything at all.

Well it's perplexing all around, that's for sure. If you need reassurance speak to a tier 2 IO and/or make an infopass appointment. Have people later than you gotten interviews?

Yes, but of course it all depends on local field office backlog.

Our lawyer called and USCIS won't take a look until their "Currently processing" date is after our priority date.

That's particularly frustrating because we waited for six months of inactivity / no change in stage to file an informational request, waited thirty days for them not to respond, and then our lawyer was told they have to be past our priority date in order to look into our case.

This is extra difficult to accept because our priority date is January 6th, the EXACT "Currently processing" date on display for the Washington, DC field office, we have to wait a whole month for them to update the processing times in early to mid-October for us to technically be "behind," even though they are six weeks behind (in terms of data reporting) according to their own metrics.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, the data they show in the Processing Times page is based on info from two calendar months earlier. So the DC field office was actually working on January 6th cases on July 31stso what's been happening in the entire month and a half since then?

We filed on June 6 and have been in "testing and interview" for a little over a month. Our local office is currently on March filers, so it looks like it may be another 3 months. I got excited seeing all these postings about people getting through in 4 months, but it seems you just never know when they're going to get to your file.

Sorry to hear you've been waiting so long, jxn.
