PLEASE HELP!! A good friend of mine received his visa approval for his fiance. They are in the process of preparing for their interview. She works in Hong Kong, so they are also getting her police certificates for her clearance. She used to work in Lebanon for 4 years and they just found out it will take them 3 to 6 months to get her police clearance from there! I spoke to the Lebanon Embassy in Manila on their behalf, and I was told there is no way to get it any sooner. Has anyone else been in a similar situation? They have been waiting two years already, and her visa approval will run out before they even get the clearance. Please help if you have any ideas! Thanks

Sorry to say but Police Clearance certificate from the passport office of every country the beneficiary has lived in after the age of 16 is a mandatory requirement and there is no way getting around this.

What they could do is apply for the PCC in Lebanon well in advance, they do not need to wait for the NOA2 approval since a PCC is usually valid for a year from the date of issue.

If the NOA2 has already been received I would recommend that they do not schedule an interview until they obtain the required PCC.

Also, an I129f approval is valid for four months from the date of NOA2 to the date of interview. If the PCC would take longer to be issued, it is advisable to request for an approval extension before scheduling an interview.

I129F sent (CSC) : 02-Jun-14

NOA1 date : 04-Jun-14

NOA2 date : 17-Jun-14 (13 days from NOA1)

NVC Case# Assigned : 02-Jul-14

Consulate Email received : 15-Jul-14

Interview Date scheduled : 14-Aug-14

Interview Status : APPROVED! (71 days from NOA1)

POE date : 12-Sep-14 WE'RE TOGETHER!!
