Green Card Lost in the Mail!

So, the good news is our interview went well (Oakland Park, FL) and our AOS was approved, the bad news is I went to check why it was taking so long to get the card, and according to the US Post Office website, it left the Miami post office on August 6th, and now...it's, well, no one knows. They have opened a case and promised to call me back in one business day.

From what I've read, we'd be really screwed if it said "delivered" and we'd have to apply and pay for a replacement, but we might be in better shape since it's clearly not our fault. Has anyone had a similar experience? Hopefully during their "investigation" they will find it, but it sure is disappointing to get this far without any problems and then have this happen at the last stage!

Update: we found out something new today. My wife's 2 day priority letter with her green card that was shipped on August 4th resurfaced in Kansas City, MO on September 2nd! It was last scanned in Miami on August 6th departing the Miami post office, 18 miles from our house, but it never got any closer. I opened multiple cases with USPS trying to find it, and they concluded it was lost. Well, after today's call, USPS tells me USCIS shipped the card with no delivery address, and no return address on it, so it's bound for some black hole mailing center for orphaned mail in the Midwest. Someone is supposed to call me on Monday with updated information, but until it gets scanned somewhere else, they still can't help me. How did it get sent with no shipping or return address? We've gotten every single correspondence up until now. And how did it take a month to get from Miami to Missouri? I'll keep everyone posted as the adventure continues, hopefully no one else here will suffer the same fate...

Hey Dave n Olga,

What is the update on your card. Did USPS get back to you yet?

I think we might be falling in the same black hole. Our status says that our cards were delivered a week ago but we never saw anything. We are going to check with the post office tomorrow.

Hopefuly they have something better to say.

Ahren n Edna
