Hi there,

My friend filed DCF for her wife in Manila, 10 days later someone from USEM called the petitioner and was asked some questions like , for whom he had filed all other petitions for. Do you think they really call the petitioner just to ask this, besides this question had already been asked and answered in the I130 form?any opinion?my friend is getting worried. Thanks

Has the petitioner or beneficiary had another petition filed before? They might have a name match that they need to clear up or if there was a petition filed that has been missed off the form they need to clarify and/or make sure both petitioner and beneficiary know about all previous petitions as not knowing a persons past (especially previous petitions or criminal history) is a major red flag. There are many potential reasons that they need to do this.

I have seen that the embassy can call the petitioner or beneficiary in a few different cases on VJ. This does happen, and it is not always a bad thing.
