Missouri community outraged after police fatally shoot teen

(CNN) -- A shooting involving police left a teen dead Saturday in Ferguson, Missouri, authorities said.

Witnesses decried the killing as unprovoked. The deceased, Mike Brown, 18, was unarmed, they told CNN affiliate KMOV.

Angry residents took to the streets by the hundreds to protest, and Ferguson police called up more officers to secure the scene, Police Chief Thomas Jackson said.

Jackson asked the St. Louis County Police Department to conduct an independent investigation into his officer's actions and the killing of Brown, 18. The Ferguson Police officer involved is on paid administrative leave during the investigation, but will be available to talk to county homicide detectives.

St. Louis County Police plans to release more information on the shooting Sunday.

From the reports so far it seems the officer will end up in prison, At least thats what I believe.

It sounds like the victim was jaywalking and ignoring what the officer said....officer overreacted and will pay the price.

Different news sources are saying the man shoved the officer into his police car and then tried to get his firearm. There was a struggle and a shot was fired inside the car. Then the struggle shifted outside the car where the officer fired multiple times.

I'm sure an audio recording exists and there is plenty of forensics to go on. If the officer's weapon has fingerprints or dna from the man, then the official story holds up. If not, it was a murder.

She was pointing out the comments which brought race into it. I know you don't want to believe it, but it always happens when the victim is black. We have the luxury of having to prove our own innocence, even in death.

I am a watcher of many such incidents every week, and I am sure you have seen several of my posts . I frequent sites that report such atrocities, police atrocities happen weekly across all racial barriers. It only makes national news when it a person of color is involved.

This cop clearly runs over a young white soldier on purpose. Did it make national news .

Their innocence is never talked about. They're not called animals. The cops don't call them the N word and talk about nice it is to kill a black person.
