Should I be concerned that I have been in "Interview Scheduling" since May?

I am a USC. My wife is Romanian. We are in the US living in Southern California and filed for an AOS (i-130,i-485) in April. We've done the biometrics and in late May we received an email update (no letter) stating that our status has been moved up to "testing and interview" and once they schedule our interview time they will mail us a notice. The email also said that if it takes more than about 30 days to call to find out what the problem is. I have called after 30 days, 60 days, etc. and just get a person reading the exact text of the case status that can be found on the website. When I do searches for other people's similar cases I keep seeing that they had their interviews scheduled in under 10 days. Should I be concerned?

I am starting to seriously worry that my interview appointment got lost in the mail somehow and I have an appointment that I don't know about and therefore will not show up for.

Any related advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!

goodpoint,

Me and my wife filled I-130 ONLY in December last year and we got called for an interview in August 4th … So as you can see some offices are booked with cases so they often transfer tour case to another office or it took them a bit longer to schedule an interview … My advise is to be patient and to check updates for your cases online!

BEST OF LUCK

First please do not worry . well it happens with me my case .My case updated to" interview and testing" right after my bio metrics and same thing happend and i am so excited to see my interview date ,i have been checking my mailbox every single day then i called USCIS and asked them they said you will be notify when your letter will be sent to you.Right now your letter has not been sent yet . And i got my interview date after six months .USCIS will inform you about your interview scheduling and the location a month before via email, mail and case status.

I think this will help

Thank you for the replies! That information really did put me at ease. It is great to hear that they will inform me of the appointment in more than one way and that I'm not the only one experiencing a delay at this step.

Now I can stop having these day-dreams(nightmares) about sinister neighbor kids raiding my mailbox and burning my appointment letter while cackling and making future plans to snatch my Netflix rentals. :)

My wife has been in "Interview Scheduling" since February.

Also, the comment to call after thirty days refers to thirty days after they schedule you. Meaning they will update your case status, saying you have been scheduled for an interview, and if you don't receive the letter saying the location, date, and time within thirty days, then you can call.

I believe in your current status you have to wait six months before they'll look into your case to give you more info.

No need to worry. This means your application is in the process of being scheduled, but not actually scheduled. Once your application gets scheduled, you will get an update stating a letter of place/time was mailed out regarding your interview. Also, the update on the website will reflect the actual date of the interview once you have been scheduled.

I just recently went through this entire process.
